Library Mission Statement

The mission of the Chickasha Public Schools Elementary Libraries is:

• To be an integral and active component of the school
• To provide collaboration with the staff as an extension of the classroom
• To support the curriculum with quality resources and materials
• To encourage students and staff to be effective users of ideas and information
• To instill life-long reading habits that promote reading for both pleasure and information

Library Goals

The goal of the Chickasha Public School Elementary School Libraries is to provide our students and staff with an inviting, assessable and stimulating environment for meeting their informational needs.  We recognize that the Library Media Program plays a very important role in our students’ total educational program.  We strive to equip our students with the necessary skills to make them information literate by improving their ability to access, use and evaluate information from a variety of resources.  Our goal is to provide a functional library with the most up-to-date resources and equipment for both informational research as well as pleasure reading.
